    Common Birds

If you are like me, too often we take the birds we see every day for granted. I get excited seeing a new bird or one seen less. I often fail to see how truly beautiful and colorful something like a Cardinal is.

Here are two in the yard now - a Goldfinch (have a million all year) and a Red-bellied Woodpecker (seen many many times every day).
When you take time to notice these or most birds --> beautiful!

When I was able to put out food I got a big variety of birds or at least I thought it was a big variety. What I noticed after a few weeks was that I was getting a large number of the same birds and they were birds that I had not noticed before I had started with the feeders. I have a few varieties of woodpeckers and I always have cardinals and some other common birds that we all see but I got some big birds showing up in numbers and they were around all the time. Now I am back to the real common birds but that is ok for now. I can start getting seed again soon and filling up the feeders for when fall and winter hit.
