Spring is near and migration is underway.
Last week I commonly had over a couple hundred birds out here. Most were visiting Chipping Sparrows and Pine Siskins. Today my yard is near empty.
Even the many Cardinals are at war with each other over territory, and spreading out some.
I am not sorry to see the Siskins go. They are fun and interesting birds, but adding them to the Finch population is hard on my feed budget. Hopefully they will not be back for a few years.
The Chipping Sparrows will return, but they just eat millet. I was kinda sad as again this year I had less, maybe a hundred. All I can figure is they are loosing breeding territory up north.

My Pine Warblers are still here, I have about 7. I hate to see them go. They are on the porch with me now at the suet. They get very tame by this time of year.

Other birds will be arriving. I have about the same number of different breeds all year, but the numbers of birds are much, much less in Summer.

Get you Hummer feeders out. They are already in Florida.
