    Georgia vs Alabama

    Georgia vs Alabama

I see the line is 10.5 and the score around 35-25.
This is a big game for the YC contest.
If Alabama looses, it probably moves them from the #1 spot to the #3 or #4 spot. It means Georgia is in and not Oklahoma.

Experts say Alabama and Clemson are the two best teams.
I believe it is Alabama and Georgia.

When you look at teams position by position, these two are the best over all.

Both have solid offense, defense, special teams, and backups.
I am not saying Clemson or ND or OHS can't make a game and even win against these two, but they come up a little short on paper. I don't think Oklahoma would have any chance.

I have seen every game for these teams. They have had growing pains like all teams. Like all teams they sometimes need a 1/4 to figure things out, but then unlike many teams, they dominate.

Both intend to run the ball, and both have an excellent passing game.
Both have a solid defense. Which defense can make it rough on the QB?
Which "O" line will man up? This game will not be about tricks, but won in the lines.

Tuanigamanuolepola "Tua" Tagovailoa has been impossible to deal with. He is statistically the best in the nation. The Georgia defense must influence his play. If they cannot, they will loose. He is that big a deal because he is on a team surrounded by college superstars. Many teams have a good QB, but few have one this good who is also surrounded by superstars. He is a big part of the rushing game at 38.

Jake Fromm is a QB who can win every game with passing. He is currently the 3rd rated rated QB. He is less a threat running at -3. Being #3 in the nation is awesome unless you are playing a team with a QB as good. It is very unlikely that Georgia will loose due to this guy. Can he take the team on his shoulders and carry them if needed? He has in the past.

If either QB goes down, the game is far from over. The backups are NFL caliber. As a Tiger fan, what pisses me off about these QBs is they will be back next year.

The running game would seem to favor Georgia. That seems to be the case every year. Georgia is currently #10 and Alabama #32. Swift is the only RB in the top 50 coming in at #49. The winning deal these days is not having Hershal Walker on your team, but having a team game.
Both Georgia and Alabama have that and then some.
The big difference is Alabama runs the QB.
In many games Georgia can keep bringing in fresh backs like Holyfield until the defense gives up. Alabama can keep bringing in fresh "D" linemen.
When that happens the running game must shift to the perimeter or stall (unless you have a Hershal). It is hard to run on Alabama, but if anyone can, Georgia can.

In every game Tagovailoa has been unstoppable. I believe for Georgia to win, the "D" must annoy him and keep him in the pocket. That is hard as the Alabama "O" line is not a joke.
Jake Fromm must be the MVP using his receivers and RBs on short passes to keep the chains moving.

It is best for my Tigers if Alabama wins so we get ND in the Final Four, but I am 100% a fan of Georgia this week. Like I said at the start, if Georgia can't beat Alabama, who can?

Again, pisses me off that these two teams will return mostly in tack next year as half my Tigers move on.

Why do no Georgia fans post to this with their thoughts?

I say to that 1) Who the hell would know? Who have they beaten lately and mostly this entire season (that is any good at all..)? e.g., have any of these teams beaten a top 4 ranked team? I know a team that has....
    2) Who the hell cares what "the experts" say or believe? 100% irrelevant and this "debate" should only be allowed to be settled on the field of play...NOT by "the experts" who now decide who is "the best" and then - lo and behold! - the "National Champion" emerges from them! Why bother to play at all? Just have "the experts" crown their #1 pick as "National Champs" and save all that messy field play that Bill is so concerned that these players will suffer from in determining who is best. Why bother indeed..

It should be an interesting/great game. Game of the minds also. Georgia is very young as over 50% of the starters are freshman and sophomores. Georgia is hungry which is good. Alabama is Alabama. In reality I believe Alabama has the edge. Georgia is still young. I'll be pulling for Georgia. Should Georgia win, and they will, Alabama will still be in the Final Four. If Georgia loses, they will be out.
