This Winter has had more really cold days than I can recall at the lake.
The last few days has been warmer and wet. The lake is up. I kinda hate that as I always have water, and being selfish, like when others can't launch. Having the lake to myself is nice. I suppose Chuck and Fenders disagree.

After a sprinkle start, the day is now up to 69 with Sun breaking through from time to time.
I sat down to rest and saw a big frog peaking out.

That almost made m my day, but then - even better - a Turtle appeared for the first time in 2018.

Ten minutes later a 2nd climbed out. They both look great, so I guess laying on the bottom of my pond for months has done them no harm.

The turtles have been wet for a long time and are now drying out and breathing fresh air. It is kinda cool they can stay under for months and not breathe. I hope the clouds clear up some for them. My pond is up to 62 degrees which is above average for February. It is generally colder than the lake, but this Winter I turned off the spillway, and it has stayed warmer.

I don't know the ground temps, but they should be similar. That is evident as I have up rows of Daffodils and my Hellebore are in bloom. To early to plant as I am sure Winter will return. Around here we are subject to frost until the 2nd week of April.
