Hermit Thrush showed up today. He is already taking a bath in the Branch. They have spent every Winter with me here. My yard has lots of Winter berries, their favorite food. Mine are named wrong, not hermits at all.

Here is a photo from last year.

First Yankee Chipping Sparrow just arrived. Soon I will have a couple hundred that will be in the yard 24/7. They eat millet, about 150 pounds before Winter is over. Soon they will be joined by White Throat Sparrows, Juncos, and Song Sparrows who also prefer millet. All are birds who like to eat off the ground, so they prefer hopper type feeders as opposed to tube feeders.

Here is Sir Percival, he is very patient, and like me, loves ground birds.

Song Sparrow made it in today. I think this is everyone now.

Song Sparrows are the biggest bathers in the flock. Nobody washes as much as Song Sparrows.
They are seed eaters and hang out with the other Sparrows types.

In years past, my favorite Winter bird has been the Pine Warbler. Then the numbers decreased, last year just a few, this year .
My flock must have been wiped out by Al Gore and his wind machines which considering everything, add more carbon than they reduce, kinda like ethanol. The only thing they do is transfer our tax $$ to the pockets of the rich --> fuck us peasants or a few Pine Warblers.
