    can't be a good siGn

The closest shrub to my chair is my Gardenias. It is twilight right now and the white blossoms gained my notice for the first time.

How could that be? Why are they blooming?

    I think I know, and I don't like it.

I've got some blooming too. Why do you think it is? I don't think it's that global warning shit all the libs are claiming.

Yeah, Chuck was on my porch last week and asked what the tree was next to him.
I don't keep up with this crap and was off my game as I had an actual visitor.

I am a CLEMSON trained Master Gardener, but WTF?

I stumbled and stuttered giving my aged brain time to work and came up with
    "Cryptomeria".
Chuck blurted out "Cryptomeria japonica", and I saw he was playing me:excitement:.

I don't know plants as much as I know a hustle.

Most guys don't show up at your dock on a speed boat, and them know the names of crap in your yard better than you.

Chuck is a very interesting guy, hope we can hang out more.

Two things can spike an out-of-season bloom in plants; their internal clock is fucked up, or an unusal weather occurrence.

My sister once had a pear tree that would bloom 5 times a year at the weirdest times....never did produce any mature fruit.

Could it be that the plants on that side of your deck are getting " warm rain" falling on them at night?
