(I am allowed to use the scientific name as I have been to classes):confusion:

These guys eat everything and then drop eggs which turn to grubs in the soil.
People put out JB bags and they will catch 'em, but they also attract them.
    It is not a solution.

For years I had to spray my shrubs (especially fruit, Pyracanter, and Roses) weekly. I ingested enough to give me cancers. It was that or see the plants destroyed. They prefer tender, but will move on to WTF is available.

A few years ago I ran across Bayer Tree and Shrub which you put on the ground and it is absorbed by the plant (systemic). It comes in liquid and granules.

Fingers are crossed, but the past two years I have had no problem and did no spraying.

On the front end it looks expensive but is actually cheap.
It is also quick and easy.

Now is the time as it is mostly too late for this season if you wait until they appear.

"Cotinis nitida"?? Isn't that Latin for "Having sex outdoors at night"?
Ode to 2020 (sung to the tune of "Everybody was Kung-Fu Fighting") - ELG:
    "Everybody was Kung Flu fighting
This virus panic struck like lightening
Although the future seemed too frightening
    (Seemed too frightening)
It's the book of your life that you should have been writing
(Life that you should have been writing)"

    Yes.

That is what they do, but not just at night.
They hump and eat all day then die after leaving a crop of many more in your soil.
