    Fatsia Japonica

Christms Eve I dropped in on a neighbor (rare for me) to drop off a gift and maybe be offered a fellowship glass of cheer.

His yard is neat, and rather bare in Winter like most. He works hard, grows Bermuda grass. Beside the walkway to his dock a small, beautiful Philodendron like plant was growing. My first thought was Castor Bean, but it has been too cold. He did not know what it was, said it got ragged in Summer and he cut it back. Now it looked great!

I needed:love_heart: that as outdoor Winter plants are fun. Research (l live near more plant experts than most anyone -- CLEMSON) revealed it to be Fatsia Japonica, sold in stores as Japanese Aralia.

I got three, will get them in over the next couple days.
Apparently it likes cool temps, lots of water and fertilizer and shade. It looks like a perfect plant for my garden. It can be propagated with cuttings.
