Fuck al gore and the $$ he is making
With just a couple weeks left, might have to search some to make it to 40 bird sightings for the YC Bird Count Contest.
On the troubled side is that a few of my favorite Winter migrants have not arrived.:upset::upset:
"Birders" and "Backyard Bird Watchers" are not the same guys. (like me, one can be both, but I seldom see the connection in my bird friends).
For real "Birders" it is a competitive thing with their personal notebook. travel a thousand+ miles and see(?) a new bird fro the book. I feel sure if they spend a few thousand in travel and don't see it, would never claim they did.. :redface-new::tongue-new::smile-new:
For "BackYard" guys it is more akin to having pets.:tiger:
Right now I am missing some major Winter migrants that add add interest here during Winter:
- Song Sparrow
- Junco
- Pine Warbler
- Yellow-rumpled Warbler
There are others, but these traditionally visit here for Winter in large numbers.
I blame it all on AL Gore's wind mill turbines. My tiny friends fly many miles through WTF to make it to my yard. Putting up these treacherous "bird killers" that can wipe out a flock in seconds makes me angry.
Maybe a few will escape and complete their ancestral journey here?
Maybe they are all dead.
