Goggled and found a fun article.

This guy likes his camera better, but the deal is flawed as must always be the case as the items are so different as to camera and binocular.
His binos are on ebay used under $20 and his camera is Cannon point and shoot with 20X optical as opposed to the bino 10X. The bino takes in more light as it is 10X50, the camera has twice the optical range.

My case is different.
First I know squat about photography and should at least take an online course, maybe one at the local community college (might hook me up with some old, hot geezer babes).
Second, I have a decent camera and decent binos.
My results are different as my camera is no where near my binos even though the price is similar.

Older cameras and binoculars are about the lens and how to use them. Newer cameras are actually small computers that require a course in the camera as well as one in photography.
Binoculars also have a learning curve and different types fit different needs.

The binos I have used here on the porch for a few years are still $2400 on Amazon and still hard to find a deal on used as the warranty means a lot on optics. In this range, you expect flawless. They are tough, but a bad fall could compromise that. I have a few good binos and use all, but the difference with these is striking. You expect a good pair to last you a lifetime. For a guy like me, these are not an extravagance, but a bargain.

My current camera is Olympus E-620. It is good, but lens mean everything in cameras. I have an Olympus 4/3ths 50-200 lens which translates to 100-400. Most times I sit in shadow and shoot into shadow -- tough going! Maybe I misspoke, knowledge and experience mean a lot as to cameras.
However, much of the computer crap is there to help make more of us better at taking photos. These days many also double for video on the high end.

Have my eye on this upgrade:
When K hits the Lotto and "if" she shares, buying that.
